FileZilla Client is a free FTP client, made available as open-source software (with open source code). With simultaneous ease of use, the program offers high functionality in the field of uploading files to FTP servers, downloading files from FTP servers, and managing files available on these FTP servers. FileZilla Client supports FTP, FTP over SSL / TLS (FTPS) and SSH File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) connections, supporting both IPv4 and IPv6 communication protocols. Connectivity is possible via proxy servers using the HTTP / 1.1, SOCKS5, and FTP protocols. The client works on many system platforms such as  FileZilla Client for Windows, FileZilla Client for Mac OS, FileZilla Client for Linux, and FileZilla Client for BSD. It is worth noting that the developers of the project also prepared FileZilla Server software, functioning as an FTP server in Windows.

The Main FileZilla Client Version 3.48.0 Features:

• Support for FTP connections, FTP over SSL / TLS (FTPS), SSH File Transfer Protocol (SFTP), support for IPv4 and IPv6,
• Support for proxy servers using HTTP / 1.1, SOCKS5 and FTP,
• Different modes establishing a connection with the server - Quick connection (with remembering the last connections), Page manager (list of websites' FTP addresses with advanced configuration parameters for each connection), reconnecting with the last used server,

• Network connection wizard - extensive connection configuration, selection of connection modes (passive and active), help in adjusting program connections to firewall rules,
• Directory and local and remote file explorer - functions related to browsing files/directories available locally and/or on the server, as well as performing appropriate operations on these files and directories - sending and downloading (also by means of drag and drop), creating new folders, renaming, deleting data from the server, changing file attributes on the server. Information columns of the explorer inform about names, sizes, types, and dates of modification of files/directories, as well as about access rights to files/folders on the server and about owners and groups assigned to them. The explorer supports the card mechanism so that you can manage data on multiple FTP servers at the same time. In addition, we can use the tabs leading to selected local and remote directories,
• Filtering results in the explorer based on various parameters of local and remote file names,
• Advanced file search on the FTP server,
• Comparing local and remote directories in terms of file size or modification times,
• List of transfers (list of files in the transfer queue, list of unsuccessful and successful transfers) pause and resume transfers, re-sending / downloading data, support for large files (up to 4 GB), the ability to save modification dates for transferred files, transfer modes (automatic, ASCII, binary, the ability to set a given mode for selected file types), manual configuration of advanced transfer parameters, data transfer speed limits, simultaneous transfers, simultaneous downloads, and transfers, filtering of incorrect characters in file names, selection of actions performed automatically when files already those present in the target site have the same names as the files to be transferred (file replacement, replacement only if it is older than the file being transferred, file replacement, when its size is different from the size of the source file, resume the transfer, change the file name, skip file transfer),
• Detailed log window informs about all events related to connections and transfers, the log is saved in a local file,
• FTP command entry window,
• The ability to operate the program using command line commands,
• Export data import to/from XML files - with split options for Website Manager data, transfer queue data, and program configuration.

The FileZilla Client graphical interface looks visually pretty decent. In the settings we configure the graphic style of the interface, besides, almost all tool panels can be hidden or displayed again if necessary. Less advanced users will master the tool in a short time, provided they have at least general knowledge about the principles of operation of FTP clients and servers. In case of problems, you can read the extensive help and documentation that is available on the project website (there are no Polish-language instructions).

The program FileZilla Client server / FileZilla Client installer also suggests installing external applications that may not necessarily be desired by the user and can change e.g. the search engine of the web browser to display advertising content. The installation of external programs can be easily skipped, just use the clearly visible "I do not agree" button several times.
