BlackBerry Launches 5G Smartphone with Physical Keyboard in 2021

BlackBerry may have dominated the smartphone market a decade ago. However, currently, the brand known for its BBM chat application and the physical keyboard has receded. The last device released was over two years old.

But all of this will change soon, as launching Phone Arena, BlackBerry has announced a new licensing partnership with OnwardMobility and FIH Mobile Limited to develop and manufacture new smartphones under the BlackBerry name. This new device BlackBerry 5G Smartphone will be released in 2021.

BlackBerry Launches 5G Smartphone with Physical Keyboard

As before, this new device BlackBerry 5G Smartphone with Physical Keyboard will still feature cyber-security features, which until now are still synonymous with BB. However, this new device will take Android as the operating system.

The hallmark of BlackBerry will not fade either, where on this new device there will still be a physical QWERTY keyboard which will make this smartphone have a classic BB model. Not only that, but there will also be 5G connectivity.

BlackBerry itself has not confirmed the terms of the license agreement, but Onward Mobility has revealed that there will be more than one smartphone. So, if this first device is successful, the cooperation will continue.

The targets of OnwardMobility and FIH Mobile also don't seem to be high. This is because the BlackBerry brand has been weakening for almost a decade. In addition, the QWERTY keyboard is certainly not the favorite of many.
