Microsoft Starts Testing The Timeline In Windows 10

Microsoft has released a large update for Windows 10 in the test channel. Users subscribed to the fast update circle can already download the build marked with the number 17063. It introduces the function of timeline and application cards, which we discussed in more detail last month.

The timeline in Windows 10 was originally supposed to debut as part of the Fall Creators Update, but ultimately Microsoft decided to delay this function. And there is something to wait for because it will introduce a lot of possibilities.

Thanks to the timeline, users will be able to start exactly where they last ended. Activity in the system will be transferred between devices. Thanks to this, we will restore browser tabs or work done in applications - even a project in Excel. Integration with Cortana will allow you to transfer part of the activity to Android and iOS devices.

The timeline for Windows 10 will be available from the Tasks view in Windows 10. On the main screen, it simply shows our last activity that we can search.

Another novelty in the test builds are the mentioned cards, which allow grouping activities in individual applications in one convenient window. Such groups can also be restored at a later time, even on another device.

New Cortana interface

Cortana was also updated to receive a completely new interface. The application has a special organizer section to quickly set to-do lists and reminders. The virtual assistant also received the ability to control Spotify using voice commands.

Minor changes also occurred in the system interface. Microsoft has added more elements to the idea of Fluent Design.

Windows 10 build 17063 can only be downloaded by those who have signed up to a quick update circle in an implicit test program. The latest versions of the system may contain a lot of errors.
